The Healing Herbs

There are 38 flower remedies discovered by Dr Edward Bach, which come under 3 groups:

“The Twelve Healers”

These flowers are the type of remedies describing the kind of person you are - often more difficult to recognise in adults. This relates to how we feel or react in various circumstances - eg when we are ill, under stress etc. These 12 flowers are:
Agrimony, Centaury, Cerato, Chicory, Clematis, Gentian, Impatiens, Mimulus, Rock Rose, Scleranthus, Vervain, and Water Violet.

“The Seven Helpers”

These are the remedies for chronic (long-term) conditions - eg hopelessness, exhaustion. They are support remedies, often used in combination with a chosen remedy from the Twelve Healers group. These 7 plants are:
Gorse, Heather, Oak, Olive, Rock Water, Vine and Wild Oat.

“The Second Nineteen”

These remedies relate to the reactive emotional states - ie to the problems which result from everyday life, trauma and difficulties. These 19 plants are:
Aspren, Beech, Cherry Plum, Chesnut Bud, Crab Apple, Elm, Holly, Honeysuckle, Hornbeam, Larch, Mustard, Pine, Red Chesnut, Star of Bethlehem, Sweet Chesnut, Walnut, White Chesnut, Willow and Wild Rose.
